I have few words to say about this place.... Cause it was that good!

Customer service was top notch as Peggy did not fail to tend to her busy floor.  Anything you needed she got, THANK YOU, PEGGY!!

First time going, and it'll definitely be the last. There were less than 15 people in the restaurant eating dinner when I went with my boyfriend (that's including us) and it seemed to have a very slow energy. It was hot and musty in the restaurant, which we then realized was due to a broken AC. Still, no fans on and no ventilation.

There were three girls that looked like teenagers who were basically running everything, and by the look and feel of the service we got, they were probably cooking the food themselves too. As soon as we walked in, we were told to seat ourselves wherever, which I didn't mind. But then we waited a good 10 minutes before any one of them brought us a menu to look at. She didn't even bother to offer any drinks.

A different girl then came by about 10 minutes later and asked to take our orders for food (still disregarding the drinks). We ordered our food, then I had to remind one of them that we still haven't been offered drinks. And I hate to admit it but when I ordered an alcoholic drink, I took out my ID thinking she needed to check it and she said she didn't need to see it. Mind you, I just turned 21 and look like a 13 year old little girl when I don't wear makeup, which I wasn't this day. BIG YIKES!

The food finally came. We ordered combo #3 which consisted of shrimp, king crab, mussels, sausage, corn and potatoes with the mild combo seasoning. We also ordered a side of the lobster tail with the same seasoning. The crab was big, but it didn't taste fresh. The shrimp seemed undercooked as the shell didn't peel off good on a few of them and some were still on the chewy side. The mussels were bitter. The potatoes were also VERY undercooked. The lobster was the only decent part of our order of food, but the seasoning made it bad. It was as if they mixed a gallon of oil with Old Bay, Garlic and the lemon pepper seasoning. It was so heavy on the stomach that we couldn't finish eating it. AND it was room temperature warm, not freshly cooked warm. On top of that, the most important tool in any restaurant like this, we weren't given crab crackers!!!! Just old office scissors. The crab was super hard to crack too.

As for the rest of our service, we were never checked up on. We finished our waters and they never came to refill them. When I walked to the bathroom to wash my hands since they also don't provide wet towelettes, all three girls were on their phones up at the front giggling and eating a burger and other food that looked like they don't offer there. One of them was on Snapchat recording what they were doing. When my boyfriend got up to go wash his hands, he said they left the girls bathroom door open and all three girls were in the bathroom taking pictures with the mirror in there. We were never brought our checks either. They seemed like they really didn't want to be there and showed that they didn't care for their customers as they should of. Not once did I see a different face from other staff (cooks, buss boys, management/owners).

This place needs to go under a complete transformation, starting with management and ownership of the restaurant following with their staff. This was the worst $100 I've ever spent on food. If the food was decent i wouldn't even bother writing such a negative review. If the service was better then it would of made up for the poor quality of the food as well. How are the food AND the service both complete trash??? I had good expectations coming here since we were trying something new and I only wish I could go back to actually read the reviews and stick to eating a Rockin Crawfish instead, which is right across the street. I have worked in the food industry. I work in management currently, so I understand the frustrations that can come from starting a new business and making it a great one, but whoever this lazy owner is needs to just sell the place and find another way to invest his money in. This place is horrible! PLEASE!! Go across the street to Rockin Crawfish if you want to eat cajun seafood out in this side of the bay. If not, trust me just make to the drive to the Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab out in San Jose. DO NOT EAT HERE!!

I will start with the positive first as, unfortunately, there were many negatives to our visit. There were 2 girls working that day (so it seemed short staff, especially with a waiting on a 12 seated table as well as the restaurant)... they did as best they could and I felt they were still very nice despite everything else. They kept up their positive attitudes. The garlic noodles are very flavorful & their seasoning is as well... which is one reason we would possibly consider going back (but for now we are steering clear).

I walked inside and it was HOT, which we later found out the AC was broken. There's no windows that can be opened & they kept the door shut so we were boiling in there. A guy in the restroom even said he got a nose bleed from how hot it was inside. We ordered a lot of rice, again we were a party of 12 (my family alone ordered 3).

After receiving our shrimp & waiting for a while we asked where the rice was, and that's when we were told they only had 2 cups left and it would take an hour to cook more. I'm not sure why we were not informed before... I guess it was better to have your guests waiting on something that was never coming, then to mention they ran out. AGAIN, we were a party of 12 & made a reservation AT LEAST 30 mins before... I'm assuming they didn't check how low they were on rice before we got there. It was also pretty full by the time we started eating, so I overheard another guest ask for their rice which they finally informed them they were out... this was at least 30 mins after they told us. If I ran a restaurant I would inform everyone at the same time, especially when another table asked a while ago. They offered us French fries in replace of rice.... we ended up ordering one thing of garlic noodles to replace my families 3 orders of rice.

My family ordered 3 pounds of shrimp, 1 of them never came. I feel they forgot (although they told me it was still being made).... but another table that came after us got all of their food first.

There were no gloves & no wet wipes (which I feel is normal for a crab shack), maybe they didn't have any funding to invest in those items.

I left still pretty hungry. I would suggest new management.

I have been here many many times and gave many chances, but will not be going back. I live in the area and was excited to have a crab spot to go to, so I am disappointed it hasn't met basic expectations.

    1) They often don't open on time. There have been a few occasions they were more than 30+mins late opening because of the owner running late. Employees would wait in their car since they didn't have a key.

    2) I've seen the seafood sit outside in the bed of the owners truck, on a warm day, for at least an hour. If you think you're getting fresh seafood, sorry to disappoint. I've gotten a rotten leg one time.

    3) Service needs major improvement. 2 of the girls I've had in the past were nice, but was really pissed off the last time I went. She had a terrible attitude when she tried to overcharge me ( by $40 - place is not cheap to begin with).

    4) Always out of King Crab. If you're getting the combo, they'll still charge you the full price - even though there is no King Crab which costs more. Review your receipts!!

I could go on, but I'll stop there.
Id rather make the drive out to Boiling Crab.

Three stars might be a little too nice. The air didn't work. No fans. And they didn't at least open the door to let in fresh air. Ran out of garlic noodles. And the sever had a little meltdown. Totally not her fault though she was trying her absolute best. Imagine how stressful your job can be if your constantly having to disappoint paying customers. Not once did a manger come out and some of my party felt bad and helped her bring out the food. I'll never return here ever again in life.
I wish the sever well in her future endeavors.
